On July 26th, we’re organizing a real Fryske Dei together with wonderful Frisian volunteers! The most enjoyable day of the year, where you can enjoy Frisian crafts and activities. For once, you don’t have to travel all the way to Friesland, because for one day, Friesland is very close—right here at De Vechtvallei!

Who will become the Grutte Pier?

Yes, there is an annual battle at De Vechtvallei! Who will be crowned Grutte Pier of 2025? Both boys and girls, young and old, will compete! You might end up soaked, but it’s all worth it for the title!

De elfstedentocht

A super fun Elfstedentocht is being organized! Children will visit the cities, and in each city, there will be fun games planned. For example, there will be a belly slide, they’ll sail little boats across the fish pond, jump over a small ditch with a pole vault, and much more! It’s a playful and adventurous way for kids to experience the spirit of the famous Elfstedentocht in a fun, hands-on way. Perfect for a day full of laughter and memorable moments!

Really? A sailing competition on de Vechtvallei

It’s hard to believe, but the swimming pool is temporarily being used for an actual sailing competition, the Klompkesilen! Even the surrounding campsites are joining in! Who will be the winner of 2025? You can order a Klompke at the reception. Be sure to do it in time, as it takes about a day to put it together!

Fryske Hynders

What a beauty! We’ll end the day with a horse show featuring Fryske Hynders.
